We are considered one of the best places to shop and one of Prospect Heights best kept secret.
Walking into CALABAR IMPORTS is like taking a tour of the world. Heloise and Atim have opened a jewel of a store in Prospect Heights - with treasures and gifts from all over the world. Great shop. Nice people. Good Shopping. - Carol Morrison, neighbor/resident, Propect Heights

Calabar Imports brings the best of the African Diaspora to Prospect Heights - Patricia Spear Jones, Poet, Brooklyn
My favorite thing about CALABAR (IMPORTS) is you never know what to expect. I stop in the store just to see what new things have arrived or the new store arrangement, or fresh window dressing. I have my eye on this drum, I hope it's still there, but if it's not I know I will always find something that I want even if it's not something I need. - Trevor Brown, designer, Prospect Heights
Some other testimonials from YELP.com: YELPI wandered in, searching for a Birthday present for a good friend and co-worker; I also figured after living nearby for over a year, I'm long overdue for checking this place out. I liked it a lot! Incense, soaps, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, journals, leather and metal goods, dresses and more. A great place for reasonably priced, one of a kind gifts, imported from Asia, Africa and South America.-- Melissa M.; Brooklyn, NY
This place has the most beautiful "ethnic" inspired art, jewelry and fashion. I happened along this place after coming from Tom's Restaurant and walking to the car. I tried on 3 of the dresses they had hanging outside, bought one--and the most adorable recycled material straw bags--best of all I got both for well under $100. Great place to buy someone a gift, pick up some jewelry and an outfit.-- Erica H.; Brooklyn, NY
